It makes me honestly so happy that there are girls out there who have a butterfly abaya in every single color and have made orders and repeat orders in the same period of time. Like, I’m seeing names, and I’m realizing that I’m sending butterfly abayas out to girls that have already received abayas—and then ordered more. I’m so glad you guys are loving the abayas!
The Staple Abaya Concept
But first thing, before I jump into extravagant, exciting, fabulous abaya stylish designs: when I was creating the abayas, not just about butterfly abayas, but currently, our shop only sells butterfly abayas.
I was just thinking about the abayas that I was actually wearing—what I was enjoying, what I was getting a lot of use out of. And those were my abayas that I could throw on, that were lovely quality and lovely colors. Those were staple abayas that I could have in my wardrobe, that would always be reliable, that would always be at hand.

Understanding Abaya Sizing
Before we get stuck into the designs—if you’re somebody that’s looking into starting to wear abayas more often, and you’re not sure about the sizing and the sizing guide—that’s one thing I wanted to break down. It’s something that I learned, so I just wanted to pass that knowledge on.
Usually, with sizing reference in abayas, the size refers to the length. I’m around 5’3″ for reference, and the abayas I wear are 54. As the sizes get longer, they also get slightly wider. The 54 is slightly wider than 52.
If you’re somebody that also wanted more width in your abayas, I would recommend getting a longer length and tailoring the bottom of the abaya.
The Timeless Butterfly Abaya Collection
I’m going to start with butterfly abayas that I call the timeless collection. The reason I named it that is because they truly are.
I have been absolutely living in those abayas on a day-to-day basis. If I’m going out with my friends—whatever it may be—it makes me so happy that quite a few of you have literally bought one in every single color.
Because I know that you’re not thinking too much or racking your brain about what you’re going to wear when you want to look cute. And I love that for you! So the timeless butterfly abaya dress, and she’s so fabulous. You want an abaya that you can wear in the summer and the winter—and also in the winter you can layer her up.
Details and Fabric Choices
The sleeves were slightly oversized. However, when you’re wearing it, it’s not that oversized. The reason that I chose a slightly oversized fit: as an everyday abaya wearer, I know the constant struggle of wearing things underneath your abaya and it looks bulky. I did not want that at all.
It has a simple detail in the sleeves. I love this fabric for my butterfly abayas. I didn’t want abayas that crease easily. These abayas I chose—of course, all fabric creases—however, it doesn’t crease as much as a lot of fabrics would.
Most Popular Colors
I love the midnight sapphire color. The midnight sapphire comes with a navy, a darker navy hijab, and it just has these gorgeous shades of blue. Bluish navy is just something that you need in your wardrobe. It’s the color that has been the most popular.
We May Add More Abaya Colors
The two colors that have been the most popular are:
Stone: the stone abaya is just the color that compliments everybody. I’ve had a lot of positive feedback on that (We previously had a portion available for pre-order). It comes with a dark grey hijab and honestly, it’s just so gorgeous.
Olive: this gorgeous shade of green. I just love the fabric of these abayas.
Buttercream: this lovely light color, perfect for the summer, going out on a picnic with the girls, going for brunch.
Black: because every day is just a day to wear black butterfly abaya. If you’re new to wearing abayas, yes, go for all the colors—but black is honestly a staple. If you’re going out to a classy event or just on a walk, there really is no runway that a black butterfly abaya is not suitable for.
One thing that actually made me so happy is: one of our sisters loved the butterfly abaya, and then her sister loved the abaya. So when I saw that her sister had also made an order—honestly, it just made my heart so warm.
If you want to build your staple wardrobe: black, midnight sapphire, buttercream, cocoa, olive, and stone.
The Open Butterfly Abaya
Now we’re going to move on to possibly my favorite—open butterfly abaya. One thing I love about this open abaya is: you can wear it by itself. The fabric is the beautiful suede.
This is why I like my abayas not really oversized, but comfortably slightly oversized. So if you did want to wear more layers,you can wear this abaya with a dress and it really looked nice.
However, the star of the show is this lovely fabric. The underside has the gorgeous satin-silk finish, which I just think is such a lovely touch. It gives it that extra layer of sophistication.
You could also wear it with the satin side facing up—it gives the abaya an extra level of sophistication. It’s just so cozy. Sometimes it just feels like an extra layer. Like—we have our hijab, we have our abaya—it just feels like an extra layer of comfort. It’s like a hug.
The Elegant Abaya Collection
The last abayas that I wanted to introduce to you are our elegant collection. It comes in two colorways.
This gorgeous brown color. It’s a butterfly wing style—you wear it, and it has a lovely wrap. The hijab also has this gorgeous drape, and I just think it’s so beautiful and classy. I got a lot of wear out of it when I was on holiday.
The cream one—which a few people, before I launched my butterfly abaya collection, asked me where I got it from. It’s so gorgeous.
